You get atm quite a discount & the game is in any case worth it I'd probably recommend for you the 3 basic & one of the second 3 & all 3 content creators packs on top, which add a big bunch of well made buildings for more advanced gameplay to design cities & Natural Disasters is for players who've seen it all & are bored with the pure management of stuff & want some more action all sorts of campus options for big cities over 50,000 cims & the remaining 2 widen the gameplay even furtherĬampus adds well. * Snowfall adds trams & heating in additions to the snow maps

* Green Cities adds a new look to the cities & new ways how to deal with bacsic things like energy & garbage * Park Life adds a bunch of options to please your cims, make a lot of money & give the cities variety Then 3 which add quite a variety to gameplay In the meantime I've found that making assets for the game can be fun too, a bit frustrating at times but again - that's another feature that needed improvement. They all add something special but there are 3 which are probably rather basic like They know the limits now, they haven't made any new DLC in over a year now (good), they haven't told us anything directly what they are working on (bad), only left some cluesĪnd I'm sure they are very well aware that hardly anyone can afford good PC, not to mention very good ones.Īll that and it's only bets to make - when will they drop it on us I can see myself at least 20 ideas for 20 DLCs - it's not about them actually, it's about what our mid-range computers can do when this game operates on Unity - apparently they are not very happy about that choice thye made for C:S. With regards to having ideas for more DLCs. They are not employed to do nothing I hope So they are working, definately working on something. So what I think we can read between the lines is - we want to evolve and improve this product which is Cities Skylines, because this (or probably Colossal Cities) was or rather still is our main aim, but C:S in its current form can't go any further therefore we are working hard on our possibly ultimate dream city-builder. Pandemic or not (which is just a coincident and not a big reason to change business plans in this area), it was high time for development, as CO apparently stated that they can't see that game being developed anymore, that it was not sustainable anymore. In this article ( ) they also mentioned that they are "big believer in continuous improvement and it's at the core of (their) development process at Colossal Order". and it's extended due to "unexpected" success of C:S and the limitations of the game engine they decided to use. Creating this game was their dream from the beginning but the journey was long. The current game doesn't seem to have that potential anymore, even for powerful computers, and that's what CO is possibly quite aware of, especially after employing some former modders (apparently).

So that's what it should be for C:S 2 (or whatever name it will be) - the game that a PC can afford without much, if any, investment, and have a potential for plenty of DLCs.

Even now with some mods I'm starting to struggle distinguishing between game screenshots and real life though I don't really count on some bombastic visual effects - a game as a game. If there is going to be a Cities Skylines 2, it needs to focus on it that the game runs smoothly even at the endgame times when you city is fully built, even when you only have a $1000-1500 mid-tier gaming pc Right now if you don't have a rig that is at least worth $2000 the game slows down and laggs once you hit around 70k-100k population even on the lowest graphic settings. Game needs to run better on mid-tier PCs. Not that I wouldn't welcome Cities Skylines 2, but unlike most people I don't want a visual overhaul, I want a performance overhaul. Yes, these can be made with mods but there are people out there that really like to limit themselves to vanilla buildings and assetts. One of the best DLCs is the Park Life DLC, and its system could be utilized for a ParkLife PART 2 DLC, witch Beaches, Hotels, modular shopping Malls etc. I got to disagree with some of you guys, There are still some pretty appealing options out there for at least 1 or 2 DLCs and really I'm surprised that the developers didn't try to at least sell us one since we are all stuck at home because of the pandemic.
